Richard Grasso
Richard F. Grasso is a 2008 graduate of Brewster High School and a recent 2012 graduate of the University of Michigan where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Directing. The founder and creator of the St. Lawrence O'Toole Theatre Department, he directed Annie Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., Oliver!, and The Music Man from 2007 - 2010. At the University of Michigan, he directed Lost in Yonkers, Disney's AIDA, and The House of Blue Leaves and assistant directed under Malcolm Tulip and Linda Goodrich.
Richard is actively pursuing a theatre career in the New York City area where he was an intern for the Off-Broadway Drama Desk Award winning Transport Group Theatre Company and asst. directed their latest off-broadway musical The Memory Show starring Leslie Kritzer and Catherine Cox under the direction of Joe Calarco. He was the Assistant Director for the 2012 Pittsburgh CLO summer stock season where he Assistant Directed A Chorus Line (Director Baayork Lee), Annie (Director Charles Repole and starring Sally Struthers), Fiddler on the Roof (Director Jack Allison) and Sunset Boulevard (Director Barry Ivan and starring Liz Callaway).
He is currently a Marching Instructor with the Brewster High School Marching Band, Musical Director for Fame Jr. at the Henry H. Wells Middle School and director/producer of Our Town and Peter Pan at Brewster HS this school year.
Richard has played piano since age 8 and has been singing and acting since age 10. He currently teaches private voice, piano, and acting lessons in the greater New York area and is a freelance director of plays and musical theatre.
